Volume I. The Library
Books 1-3.9

Providing a grand summary of Greek myths and heroic legends, the Library is an essential account of what the Greeks believed about the origin and early history of the world and of the Hellenic people. This treasury of narratives about gods and heroes has been attributed to Apollodorus of Athens (born ca. 180 B.C.), but its author probably lived in the 1st or 2nd century of our era. In his highly regarded notes to the Loeb edition J. G. Frazer compares the various forms of these same stories found in different ancient authors.
